Noel O'Connor
Noel O'Connor has twenty one years experience in Information Systems across several industries. He held several leadership positions during his 14 year tenure at Amgen.
Noel was Director of R&D for Strategy and Operations where he was the primary IS liaison for the Therapeutic Areas, Product Strategy Teams and the Commercialization Office of Change Management. In this position Noel lead a cross functional team from the Commercial, Development and eBusiness Infrastructure groups to enable a Document Management platform for the Product Development and Brand teams. Noel was also the Global IT Leader for implementing a Competitive Intelligence platform and partnered closely with the Director of Competitive Intelligence and cross functional client teams based in the US, Europe and Australia.
During his Commercial Operations tenure at Amgen, Noel Project Managed the effort to streamline the acquisition of syndicated data from IMS Health resulting in significant savings to the company, while simultaneously leading the implementation of a new business and systems architecture to support Sales and Marketing Operations. He also facilitated the establishment of an eBusiness group to support web based commercial projects. Noel was the Data Lead for the Customer Relationship Management and Sales Force Automation projects and partnered with Business Unit Leads, System Integrators to drive requirements and design in order implement a new selling model for the company.
Most recently Noel has worked with several Bay Area Life Sciences companies helping them improve their Master Data Management and Competitive Intelligence solutions. He is actively involved with the local Biotech start up community in the Conejo Valley along with delivering Convergent products and CIO services to small and medium sized firms.
Noel's domain expertise includes eBusiness, Enterprise Collaboration, Content Management and Information Architecture. Noel has extensive Product Commercialization experience having worked on Licensing, Customer Relationship Management, Competitive Intelligence, eCommerce and Content Management projects. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Applications.
